Growing up on Great Barrier Island exposed me to once-in-a-lifetime interactions with wildlife. My family and I helped save a stranded whale, rehabilitated an injured penguin, rescued an injured sea lion, and welcomed a Kākā into our home until he moved out. These experiences taught me that the planet’s well-being directly correlates with the well-being of everything living on it - people and animals. 

Tawaka Art & Gifts was created to showcase meaningful art that helps raise awareness of issues in Aotearoa, to help support local artists, and to donate to Charities that serve the wider community.
